We are looking for an experienced QA Manager / QA Lead with strong expertise in software quality assurance, test management, automation testing, API testing, database testing, accessibility testing, Agile delivery, and team leadership.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in managing end-to-end QA activities across enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, healthcare, clinical trial, staffing, mortgage, human capital, and regulated business environments.

The candidate will be responsible for defining QA strategy, creating test plans, reviewing requirements, managing test execution, leading defect management, mentoring QA team members, and ensuring high-quality software releases.

This role requires a strong quality-focused professional who can work closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, project managers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure that applications meet business, functional, usability, accessibility, and compliance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

QA Leadership & Management

• Lead and manage end-to-end QA activities across multiple projects and releases.
• Define QA strategy, test approach, test planning, and quality processes.
• Manage QA team members and provide guidance on testing best practices.
• Review requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business workflows.
• Identify testing scope, dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Ensure timely completion of QA deliverables within sprint and release timelines.
• Drive continuous improvement in QA processes and testing efficiency.

Manual & Functional Testing

• Create, review, and execute test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate business workflows, user journeys, forms, reports, and application behavior.
• Ensure application functionality meets business and product requirements.
• Prepare test data required for different testing scenarios.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.

Automation Testing

• Design and maintain automation test scripts for UI, API, and regression testing.
• Build reusable and maintainable automation components.
• Improve automation coverage for critical business workflows.
• Reduce manual testing effort through effective automation implementation.
• Use automation tools such as Selenium, Karate Labs, Katalon Studio, and Tosca.
• Review automation scripts and ensure quality, reliability, and maintainability.

API & Database Testing

• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman and Karate API.
• Validate API requests, responses, status codes, error messages, and business rules.
• Perform backend and database validation using SQL.
• Verify data accuracy, data integrity, and data consistency across systems.
• Support testing of integrations between applications and services.

Accessibility & UI/UX Testing

• Perform accessibility testing based on WCAG, ADA, Section 508, and VPAT standards.
• Validate UI behavior, layout consistency, usability, and user experience.
• Identify accessibility gaps and coordinate with development teams for resolution.
• Ensure applications are user-friendly, accessible, and compliant with required standards.

Defect Management

• Log, track, prioritize, and manage defects using tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, QTest, and TestRail.
• Lead defect triage meetings with developers, business teams, and stakeholders.
• Analyze defect trends and identify root causes.
• Ensure timely defect resolution, retesting, and closure.
• Communicate defect status, risks, and blockers to project stakeholders.

Agile Delivery & Stakeholder Coordination

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Work closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, project managers, and client stakeholders.
• Provide QA status updates, test execution reports, defect summaries, and release readiness updates.
• Support UAT planning, execution, and business sign-off.
• Ensure clear communication across technical and non-technical teams.

Team Mentoring

• Mentor junior QA engineers and automation testers.
• Provide guidance on test design, automation practices, API testing, database testing, and defect reporting.
• Conduct test case reviews and automation script reviews.
• Support onboarding and knowledge sharing within the QA team.
• Promote a quality-first mindset across the team.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• Strong experience as QA Lead, QA Manager, Senior QA Engineer, or Test Lead.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience in manual testing and automation testing.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium, Karate Labs, Katalon Studio, and Tosca.
• Strong API testing experience using Postman and Karate API.
• Strong database testing experience using SQL.
• Experience with test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM, QTest, and Confluence.
• Experience in functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, system, end-to-end, and UAT testing.
• Experience in accessibility testing using WCAG, ADA, Section 508, and VPAT guidelines.
• Ability to create test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test execution reports.
• Strong defect management and root cause analysis skills.
• Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with cross-functional teams.
