Procurement Specialist – Supply Chain (100% Onsite)

Non-Exempt · Overtime (1.5x over 40 hrs) · Purchasing & Vendor Management · Onsite

Position Summary

The Procurement Specialist purchases raw materials, sub-assemblies, products, and services according to approved purchase orders, ensuring the best balance between cost, quality, and delivery timelines. This role supports a variety of supply chain and NPI (New Product Introduction) project activities, including software Statements of Work (SoWs) and licensing purchase orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase and negotiate materials, equipment, and supplies from qualified vendors at optimal cost and quality.
  • Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.
  • Support typical Supply Chain activities, including PO development, tracking, and reporting.
  • Provide vendor analysis, cost reduction initiatives, and maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Ensure timely expediting of orders and effective communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in negotiating and processing software SoWs and licensing PO’s.
  • Use and maintain data within the purchasing system to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency within Procurement and Supply Chain teams.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in procurement, purchasing, or a related supply chain function.
  • Familiarity with standard purchasing and supply chain practices, vendor negotiations, and procurement systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to plan and accomplish goals with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and flexibility in handling multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Role Characteristics

  • Reports to: Supervisor or Manager within the Procurement/Supply Chain Department.
  • Works under general supervision with moderate decision-making latitude.
  • Contacts are primarily with internal departments and suppliers.
  • Requires a mix of routine operational tasks and creative problem-solving.

Work Conditions

  • Position is 100% onsite.
  • Non-exempt role – eligible for Time and a Half pay for hours worked beyond 40 per week.
  • Collaborative team environment within a fast-paced supply chain function.
